Hi! Im Rachel Dor-chay and Im your health and fitness coach!
Being a mum of 3 children myself and as a working professional, I know what it’s like to be there for your children, your work, family, and friends while taking on a million other responsibilities. I know what it’s like to deal with the daily chores, pressure, handling multiple roles, judgment, unsolicited advice from others, work deadlines, the constant guilt for not being available for the children and for your loved ones, and all the challenges that come with being a working mum in this day and age.
And in between these things, we forget to take care of ourselves and face a lot of health issues. Blood pressure, cholesterol, body weight, triglycerides, depression, stress, weight gain, weight loss and what not we have to deal with.
I always believe in “You can’t pour from an empty cup”.
So if you want to give love to others, and be there for your family, friends, and others, you must first love yourself. Learn self-care and take care of your health.
And that’s why I help busy, stressed, and overtired working mums like you make your health and happiness a priority so you can be fit and feel confident to look in the mirror, wear your favourite dress, eat your favorite food, love yourself a little more, regain your strength and energy to be there for your family and live a life you love!
I’m certified in pre and post-natal nutrition, pre, and post-menopause nutrition and weight management, fitness instruction and personal training as well as group training including safe circuit and boot camp structures, effective group instruction, and motivational techniques for classes.
Why did I become a health and fitness coach?
As a teenager, I developed amenorrhea due to my attempts to lose too much weight. I ate too little and exercised too much. I believed being thinner would make me healthier. I couldn’t have been more wrong!
With time and lots of research, I realised that the only way I could overcome amenorrhea was by eating healthy, exercising, and listening to my body. Once I started focusing on these things, the sickness subsided and I couldn’t wait to share it with others! The journey from being sick to healthy got me excited about being healthy and fit.
So I continued my education in health and fitness, took courses, and got certified as a fitness and health coach.
Meanwhile, in the process of becoming a health and fitness coach, I faced the worst moment of my life. My mum was diagnosed with pancreatic steatosis and non-alcoholic fatty liver . And she was told she had to lose weight or she would die. Her weight was 80kg and she needed to get down to 55kg.
When I learned about her illness and situation, and thanks to the fact that I was training to be a fitness and health coach, I was able to help my mother lose 20 kg in 5 month.
The journey was indeed difficult as it was my first time but thanks to my learning and practice I could save my mum.
And today, after giving birth to 3 children, knowing the difficulties as a mum and working professional I go through, I wanted to help other mums make health and wellness their priority.
